Hot-headed phone use.
Those who think about the risk of using a mobile phone and choose not to use one, will not suffer any brain damage.
In all probability, other users will not suffer any brain damage either.

Justice
It appears that the rights of the individual speeding driver may be threatened by disclosure of his/her identity.
We should not forget that everybody in society, put at increased risk by speedsters, has rights which should include increased safety on roads by observation of speed limits by all drivers.
It may become easier to impose a penalty on the speeding car rather than the speeding driver.
The speeding car could be impounded for a number of days or weeks on a sliding scale depending on the excess speed involved, and the number of times the car has been involved in a speeding offence previously, no matter who was driving at the time. The costs of impounding could be recovered by a one-off increase in road tax for the speeding car at the next renewal date.
This would not only improve safety but also fulfill the Government policy of reducing road traffic!
Stolen vehicles and their owners could be treated the same way as at the present.

Whatever the reason for this silly conclusion, politicians should remember that when several considerations need action, they should be prioritised.
If an offence has been caused an individuals right to privacy should be lost, for aspects of that persons data which the offence requires publicising.
My idea of Poetry
I believe poetry is a medium which, using a minimalist subset of normal language, attempts to convey an authors perceived truth of life and the world we and our ancestors have created and in which we live. It can also be a medium for the generation of ideas for an optimum way forward, so that for future generations, life can be more fulfilling.
At its best, it often tries to paint a picture of the truth, using language to create a wordless vision, often, though not always, in a romantic style. Use of language for this purpose can, however, cause ambiguity and confusion.
For instance, in language in the real world, not all questions have answers, and some questions are answers.
It is possible to write an unambiguous sentence but nearly impossible for most people to then understand it (consider judicial 'jargon').
Also, one must remember, that some experiences have to be felt to be known, (rather than thought about). Words can merely convey a glimpse of the shadow of the real experience.
I write poetry to convey my interpretation of the truth, and do not write for income (bar expenses [mine will be a double Scotch, please]). The truth belongs to everyone already, so why should they pay for it? Fame (remembrance of the name) is not necessary either.
Whenever language became available to human beings, we were enabled to take large strides in our development and that of Society. Unfortunately, we all too often forget that there are some very, very, very big potholes waiting to be stepped into !!!
Is The Truth more important than what you think?
Can you put all your eggs in one basket even if you have counted all your chickens, if you're not as sure as eggs are eggs that they have all hatched, or that you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs, if you don't realise that an egg today is better than a hen tomorrow?
My Wishes
That newspapers would try to educate people who love to titillate.
That people who titillate were more capable of being educated.
That journalists could find something useful to report instead of spoiling individuals lives through imposition.
That new roads could be built instead of dual carriage car parks.
That mail order companies send mail only when I ask for it.
That mail order companies would keep my name and address private without my request.
That critics would review their own lives, and set an example for potential achievers first.
That those who perpetrate irresponsible crimes are not held as "responsible" for those crimes.
That car drivers would create gaps for other road users to gain access to the flow.
That cats could be kept out of gardens where they defecate and cause disease, foul smells and damage.
That dogs could be prevented from fouling public places and spreading disease and foul smells.
That junkies could be offered an alternative to needles which are left to cause problems for sensible people.
That I could buy just what I want. No free credit, air miles, gifts or unseen commissions or services.
That someone would come up with a new word for ‘free’. It should mean ‘you have not and will not be charged and you don’t have to spend any money or time on anything else’.
That groups and marketing people would stop pinching our existing words to give themselves credibility. We could be more gay because our language would be free of usurpers!

This is a 'tongue in cheek' version of the type of hype we have to read in so many advertisements these days.
I did have a set of boxes for you to tick, depending on your preferences, but that approach is not possible in the generation of these web pages.
Total reaction
Someone famous is reputed to have said, for the benefit of mankind, "To each and every action there is an equal and opposite reaction".
Whilst this may be true for physical objects, humans are a great exception.
Their reaction is often due to the total effects of many a previous action.
From this, we can learn, that whilst the famous person was right for objects, humans store up tolerables until the total adds up to something intolerable.
For humans, a better rule is "Humans eventually react according to the total aggravation they have accumulated from all previous, unresolved problems, often with interest".
Humans can also realise that it is better to resolve problems quickly, rather than to carry unresolved situations in their minds for ages.
Stored aggravations affect the clarity of thought that can be achieved by having a clean slate on which to consider new outrages.

Charges for Broadband connections
It seems to me that the existing practice of declaring a price for 'UP TO 8 Mb SPEED' by ISP's is bordering on the ridiculous.
Internet speed is the major factor for Broadband experience and is equivalent to the power used for gas or electricity in terms of what you use and get.
Can you imagine how we would all react if we were charged a rate for Gas and Electricity based on 'UP TO 50,000Kwh (GAS) or 5,000Kwh (ELECTRICITY)' by utility suppliers?
A much fairer system would be for ISP's to measure the average monthly Bandwidth, average speed of actual uploads and downloads, the amount of uploads and downloads, into account by using a formula related to their costs. (Perhaps Contention Ratio should be included or used to replace a variable).
Again, it may be more sensible to have a fixed and a variable element to the charge if they would better reflect their own charges.
But surely the present system must change!!
